The children had a great time today learning all about keeping safe. We had Freddie Fit in the hall doing exercises with the children and talking about the effects of diet and exercise on your body. The school nurse came in and spent the day in school talking to the children about keeping safe and healthy and the children had a go at being a dentist; trying out the dentist chair and examining their friends for cavities. We had a session on e-safety to help teach all children about the importance of keeping safe on line, very important with so many children having access to the internet on phones and tablets. The children also learned about a healthy diet and made fruit kebabs. A big thank you to the parent volunteers who came in this morning to cut up copious amounts of fruit. The children had a session on anti-bullying to help them to understand what bullying is and how to deal with it. On top of all this we had a sponsored skip to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
A big thank you to everyone who took part in the day and helped to make it a fun and educational day for the children including; lunchtime and kitchen staff, teachers, teaching assistants, office staff, the school nurse and all the volunteers. It is only with your help that days like this are possible.
