Firstly welcome back to the Summer term and we hope you had a lovely Easter break. We would like to welcome our new children who have joined us for morning sessions and hope they settle in quickly and happily. We have planned an exciting summer term to include visits from Ark Farm and Living Eggs.
The summer term and drier weather allow us to spend more time learning outdoors. However, as the weather is so unpredictable and sometimes the mornings can still be quite chilly in the outside area, could you please continue to bring in a coat for your child. In addition to this please ensure PE kits are in school throughout this term (full time children only), especially leading up to sports day. We would like to remind you to label all items of clothing carefully and check that any names that have been written in labels are still visible. In the heat of the summer children very often discard their jumpers/cardigans. If they do not have their names on and are mislaid by your child, it becomes virtually impossible to guarantee their safe return.
Our topic this half term is People who help us. If you, or a family member has a job that involves helping others such as a nurse, vet, police officer, fire fighter, hairdresser, builder etc we would greatly appreciate it if you could spare some time to come and talk to the children about your job. If you would enjoy doing this please let a member of the foundation team know and we can arrange a suitable time.
We are currently developing a ‘mud kitchen’ for our outside area and would welcome your help with donating any old metal kitchenware, such as pots, pans, ladles, mashers, cake tins, baking trays etc,.
Finally, if you have any old cds that you could give us we would like to use these for artwork.
Thank you to all the parents who have helped us out during the past term and have offered to help us during the current term. We are always grateful for additional help with reading and activities in the unit.
Please do not hesitate to come and speak with us if you have any questions or concerns. Copies of the curriculum overview for this term are on the website if you would like to have a look.
