11th November Newsletter 14

Dear Parents,

Many thanks to all those parents and children who have donated Christmas boxes for the operation Christmas Child appeal.
These will make a significant difference to many children and they are gratefully received.

Over the next few weeks Mrs Lampard, our new head teacher from January 2015, will be working in school on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. She will be working alongside staff and myself in order to ensure a smooth transition in the new year. I am sure you will join with me in welcoming Mrs Lampard to Templefield.

• The importance of be bright be seen

• Stranger Danger

We are fortunate to have a Large Vehicle Awareness session sponsored by Asda which will explore issues such as:

• What a driver of a large vehicle see’s on the road
• Where blind spots are likely to occur
• Vehicle stopping distance

I am sure this will be an informative session which will help the children to stay safe on our ever increasing busy roads.

Christmas Dinner
This year we will be having our Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 10th December.
We will cater for every child unless you do not wish your child to have a Christmas dinner. In which case you will need to OPT OUT. You can do this by completing the form at the bottom of this letter. Dinners are charged at £1.80 for each child in Years 3 & 4.
Please return the opt out form by 28th November.
Children in Years 3 and 4 do not need to send in an extra payment if they already have school dinners.

We will also be holding a colouring in competition with an exciting twist! Competitors can enter for just 50p and winners will have their pudsey bear picture brought to ‘virtual’ life, live in assembly on Friday 21st November, entries must be received by Wednesday 19th November and can be submitted to their class teachers. Thank you in advance for your support! Miss Rawlings

Book Fair
We shall be having a Primary Book Fair on Tuesday 18th November.
The Book Fair offers an inspirational selection of books. On sale will be over 500 different titles.
The Fair will be in school for one day only and books will be sold on the spot rather than via an ordering system.
All pupils will have the opportunity to look and buy during class time, the book fair will be open to parents after school at 3.30pm.
All sales on the day will help school receive valuable free books to add to our library and classes.

Yours sincerely
