16th Sep Newsletter 14

Dear Parents,

We have had a wonderful start to the new school year. I have been very pleased and impressed with the children’s positive attitude towards school and their learning. This is reflected in the quality of the new displays around the school.

History Off the Page
On Tuesday (16th September) Year 4 will be participating in a history workshop themed on the Romans. They will be learning about lifestyles, religion, homes, culture through a series of interactive, ‘hands on’ learning experiences. Look out for the photographs which we will place on our web-site and around the school in the next few weeks.

Parent Workshop – Reading
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at one of our two sessions for reading this Wednesday.

Session Times are: 2.30pm – 3.30pm
6.30pm – 7.30pm

The session will be held in the classroom at the end of the Y1 corridor. Presentations from the sessions will be available on the school website in the next few weeks.

School Photos
The school photographer will be in school on Tuesday 23rd September. Children will have an individual photo taken and also if they have siblings in school or Foundation Stage they will be photographed together.
If you have a pre-school child and would like to have a family photograph taken, this can be done before school. Please inform the school office so that we have an idea of numbers.
Photographs will be taken in the ICT suite.
On the day please go to the school hall where you will be given a number to indicate your place in the queue. Thank you

Parents Evening
Our Parent consultation evenings will be held on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th October from
4pm -7.30pm. Children’s work will be available, in their trays, for parents to look at on the night.
We will place the appointment booking boards under the covered way from
Monday 22nd September.
Appointments are for 10 minutes, if you feel that you need additional time, perhaps due to specific concerns or issues relating to your child then please speak to your child’s class teacher to arrange an alternative appointment at your mutual convenience.
If you have more than one child please leave a 20 minute gap between appointments. Many thanks
Yours sincerely
