We are now at that time of the year when we need to consider sun protection. Could I please remind parents that children need to have both a sun hat and a freshly filled water bottle each day. We advise that sun cream should be applied in the morning before coming to school. However if your child has particular sensitivity please speak to either the class teacher or office staff in the first instance.
Value for May
Our value for May is perseverance, particularly appropriate for children as they face new challenges such as those in sports and for KS2 as they prepare for their production later this term.
I have been made aware of a ‘near miss’ incident on Steppingley Road last Friday afternoon. Two Templefield children ran across the road, without stopping or looking and narrowly missed an accident. We will be reminding the children of road safety, and will also monitor the crossing at the end of the day. Please could I ask that parents stress the importance of crossing the road carefully, to their children, especially those who are beginning to walk home alone in preparation for middle school.
We have a vacancy for a cleaner for 2 ½ hours each day (3.30pm – 6pm). If you are interested please contact the school office for an application form. Closing date, Friday 16th May.
