23rd April Newsletter 14

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to school for the Summer Term. This is always an exciting and busy term with a range of visits, workshops, sports events and KS2 performances planned.

We would like to particularly extend a warm welcome to those children and parents starting with us for the first time. We very much hope that the children will settle and thrive on our care

Value for April
Although we are only in school for a short time in April we will be considering Truth and Honesty as our key value. We shall be looking at why Honesty is important, how it links to trust and respect, and how it underpins a happy school community.

Dinner Money for the 1st Half of Summer Term
Dinner money will be £39.60 (22 days)
£9 weekly, payable at the beginning of the week please. 1st week back £5.40 (3 days)
Fridays only £9 (5 days)
Cheques made payable to Templefield Lower School. Thank you

Flitwick Carnival
As many of you will know the town council are re-launching the Flitwick Carnival, which will take place on Saturday 14th June. We are designing a float and our theme is Italy.
Over the next six weeks we will be holding workshops on Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons, where parents and children in Year 4 will work together on the props which will form the design for our float. The first of these sessions will take place on Monday 28th April and we are aiming to produce gondolas and waves in these first sessions, moving on to the more ambitious Temple and Volcano in subsequent sessions.
We would be very grateful for donations of the following materials in the first instance:

• old large dust sheets
• large paint brushes
• sponges
• emulsion in blue, white or grey

We very much hope that many of you will be keen to participate and if you can offer some time on any of the afternoon sessions, please complete the reply slip attached.
May I thank you for your support with this.

Yours sincerely

L. Birch
